Who this blog is for

ENTREPRENEURS AND SMALL/MEDIUM BUSINESSES (SMBs) OWNERS:

YOU'RE SUCCESSFUL AND BUSINESS SAVVY, BUT CAN ALWAYS USE AN EDGE

Many entrepreneurs and small business owners are incredibly savvy business people.  Clearly, they do NOT need business school or management consulting experience to be successful - they have plenty of natural business acumen, instincts, and experience they can rely upon to drive their businesses.

However, some of the business concepts, frameworks, and insights that are fundamentals of a business school curriculum or management consulting tooklit could help entrepreneurs become even more successful.  At the very least, I hope to spark new ideas or perspectives that might help them change the way they view their industries, competitors, and companies.  If my friend Entrepreneur Mike is any indication, successful entrepreneurs have tremendous appetites for learning about business and are always looking for anything that might give their business an edge.

NOTE TO BUSINESS SCHOOL STUDENTS AND EARLY-TENURE CONSULTANTS:

If you're currently pursuing an MBA or starting a career in management consulting, you might find these posts helpful as refreshers and/or clarifying concepts you're currently learning or starting to use.

NOTE TO MBAs AND EXPERIENCED CONSULTANTS:

My intent is to introduce the basics of various business concepts and, whenever possible, include links to resources that provide greater detail on each topic.  If you are an MBA or worked at a management consulting Firm, you might feel I've simplified or streamlined the concepts too much.  If that is the case, rather than posting negative comments, I hope you'll consider adding any important details you feel I've omitted.
