TRANSLATING THEORY AND BOOK KNOWLEDGE INTO PRACTICAL, USEFUL IDEAS
During business school, I would call my friend - "Entrepreneur Mike" - every few days and share business concepts and insights I'd learned in class. Some were directly applicable to his company, others were simply interesting or thought starters that might trigger ideas for his business. In addition to giving him food for thought on how he approached his business, it helped cement the learning in my mind.
As I transitioned into consulting, I was exposed to new business frameworks and deeper knowledge and insights into specific industries. Careful not to violate client or Firm confidentiality, we continued to discuss business concepts and how they might apply to his business or customers' businesses. Since Entrepreneur Mike was so enthusiastic about learning these business concepts, I thought others might be interested, too.
